ITALIAN VERSION: Amazon è una continua sorpresa,

ci si perde al suo interno con facilità

e spesso e volentieri si finisce con il carrello pieno zeppo

e la carta un pochino più vuota.

Fra uno dei miei tanti girovagare all’interno del sito

ho cliccato su alcuni set in vendita della marca Villeroy & Boch,

colpita soprattutto dalla raffinatezza dei dettagli

e dal gusto particolare riservato ad ogni pezzo.

Incuriosita sono andata sul sito ufficiale ( http://www.villeroy-boch.it/ )

e si rimane letteralmente a bocca aperta,

foto di tavole imbandite, idee regalo per Natale, e chi più ne ha più ne metta.

Le radici di questo pregevole brand risalgono a metà Settecento

nella Lorena francese ad opera di Jean-François Boch

con il suo laboratorio di ceramica a Audun-le-Tiche,

fino ad arrivare nel 1836 alla fusione con il laboratorio di decorazione

di Nicholas Villeroy,

dando quindi vita a tutti gli effetti al marchio “Villeroy & Boch”

consolidandosi nella produzione

di accessori per il bagno, accessori per la tavola e ceramiche.

è davanti ai nostri occhi scorrendo le varie foto,

leggendo la loro storia e i loro capisaldi

and it’s literally speechless, photos of dinner tables,

The roots of this remarkable brand date back to mid-eighteenth Century

in the French Lorraine by Jean-Francois Boch

with his ceramic workshop in Audun-le-Tiche.

After few decades, in 1836 it merged

with the laboratory of decoration Nicholas Villeroy,

thus giving life to the brand “Villeroy & Boch” consolidating production

of bathroom accessories, table accessories and ceramics.

HOME DECOR: a pretty curious box ❒ una scatola curiosa

Saturday morning I went with my parents to the Maisons du Monde store, I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but then I saw this curious “box” which is composed by frames and inside there are many photo-cases. I think it’s a pretty good way to preserve your photos and memories but it’s also a nice and useful gift for your friends/ beloved. It costs 29.90 euros, have a look at the official website www.maisonsdumonde.com and find the nearest store, it’s really worth it!!

Sabato mattina sono andata con i miei genitori a fare un giretto nello store della Maisons du Monde a Serravalle, non ci ero mai stata e me ne sono totalmente innamorata ! non stavo cercando niente in particolare, anche perché sono tutti oggetti  d’ arredamento, ma ho visto su uno scaffale questa curiosa “scatola” composta da tante cornici di diverse dimensioni e al suo interno racchiude tantissimi contenitori per le foto. Penso sia un ottimo modo per conservare i miei ricordi e tutte le foto che tengo sparse per camera, ma penso sia anche un bellissimo regalo da fare ai vostri più cari amici o fidanzati. Costa 29.90 euro, andate a vedere anche il sito web del marchio www.maisonsdumonde.com e cercate il negozio più vicino, ne vale davvero la pena!

Christmas is coming up but I can’t resist buying the latest Christmas decorations … undecided between a reindeer “dreamy” to hang on the tree, or a delicious candies’ bowl. Among the decorations I’m looking for some Xmas presents: candles shaped as the christmas star, super chic white candles to put in glass candlesticks or lanterns in retro-style. Delicious candies bowl and beautiful cushions or small accessories to the kitchen with Christmas decorations or that of Provence. Home Fragrances of any kind ..although I prefer the “sandal” because that’s what most reminds me of Christmas … have a good Christmas waiting!!

   Il Natale è ormai vicino ma non riesco a resistere all’acquisto degli ultimi decori…indecisa tra una renna “sognante” da appendere all’albero o la miniatura di un goloso portadolci. Tra un addobbo e l’altro cerco qualche regalo: candele a forma di stella di Natale,  candele bianche super chic o profumate da mettere in candelabri di vetro o in lanterne dal sapore retrò. Deliziosi portadolci e splendidi cuscini o piccoli accessori per la cucina con decori sia natalizi che provenzali. Candide coperte di pelo (morbidissimo ma ecologico) da abbandonare su un letto o su un divano e da abbracciare nei momenti di relax. Profumi per la casa di ogni tipo…anche se prediligo il ”sandalo” perché è quello che più mi ricorda il Natale…buona attesa del Natale..

CHRISTMAS TIME: Christmas rituals – Tradizioni di Natale – Weihnachtsrituale

Christmas rituals. In Germany, there is a distinct moment when everybody finally starts his Christmas decoration at home: it is before the 4th Sunday before Christmas, when we light the first candle on our four-candle Advent wreath. You can either buy a ready-decorated wreath at your local shop, or decorate yourself, which is much more fun! All you need is: four candles of the colour you like, some rubans, dried oranges and cinammon sticks (if you like), or anything which you think is festive and fits for Christmas, like smaller Christmas ball ornaments. You can stick the things on the wreath using wires, rubans, or a hot pistol (see picture).
And then enjoy your home-made decoration…

Tradizioni di Natale. In Germania c’è un momento particolare che dà il via alle decorazioni natalizie nelle case: è quattro domeniche prima del S. Natale., quando accendiamo la prima delle quattro candele che si trovano sulla “corona dell’Avvento”. Si può acquistare una corona dell’Avvento già decorata oppure crearla e decorarla a casa, che è molto più divertente! Il necessario in questo caso è: quattro candele del colore preferito, quattro portacandele, alcuni nastri, fettine di arance secche e bastoncini di cannella (se ti piacciono), o qualsiasi cosa pensi sia festaiolo e sia adatto per Natale, come palline natalizie. Si possono incollare le cose scelte sulla corona usando filo, nastro o una pistola per colla a caldo (vd foto).Ricordatevi di accendere ogni domenica una candela nuova fino a Natale. Buona attesa del S. Natale!

“Weihnachtsrituale. In Deutschland gibt es einen Zeitpunkt, zu dem dann doch die meisten schließlich mit ihrer Weihnachtsdekoration daheim anfangen: kurz vor dem 4. Sonntag vor Weihnachten, dem ersten Advent. Das ist der Tag, an dem wir unsere erste von vier Kerzen auf dem Adventskranz entzünden. Man kann die Adventskränze fertig im Laden kaufen oder aber sich selbst einen basteln, was wirklich Spaß macht! Alles, was Ihr dazu braucht, ist: vier Kerzen in Eurer Lieblingsfarbe, einige Schleifen, getrocknete Orangen und Zimtstangen (wenn Ihr das mögt), oder einfach alles, was Ihr für festlich und weihnachtlich haltet, wie kleine Christbaumkugeln etc. Ihr könnt das alles auf dem Kranz mit Draht oder Schleifen befestigen, oder aber eine Heißklebepistole benutzen (siehe Bild). Und dann erfreut Euch an Eurer selbstgemachten Dekoration…”

I love life and I love to surround myself with lively, shinning, bright, simple things. I love beds covered with colourful fabric, combined with matching curtains and pillows. I adore my little dressing table where I put my jewels and my lovely perfumes! I love lighting a white perfumed candle when I am in my bedroom.

Amo la vita e amo circondarmi di cose piene di vita, luminose, chiare e in fondo semplici. Amo i letti in tessuto, abbinati alle tende, amo i cuscini, adoro la mia piccola toilette dove abbandono i miei bijoux e dove ripongo i miei profumi. Amo accendere una bianca candela profumata e lasciarla consumare lentamente quando sono nella mia camera da letto.

Ich liebe das Leben und ich liebe es, mich mit lebendigen, hellen, und im Grunde einfachen Dingen zu umgeben! Ich liebe mit farbenfrohen Stoffen bezogene Betten, kombiniert mit passenden Vorhängen und Kissen. Ich liebe meine kleine Frisierkommode, auf der ich meinen Schmuck und meine Parfums aufbewahre. Wenn ich in meinem Zimmer bin, zünde ich gerne eine weiße Duftkerze an.

I love the kitchen and I adore when it’s full of life! The homemade cakes leaning on a shelf within easy reach, where you can also comfortably take coffee or tea cups. A place where guests feel hosts and do not have to ask where to find sugar or spoons. A pretty house where there is place for everyone, where you light candles in the evening, or even better, with a fireplace that produces an intimacy which for me is the essence of my concept of romance.

Amo  la cucina e mi piace sia piena di vita. I dolci fatti in casa appoggiati ad una mensola facilmente raggiungibile, una piattaia dove prendere comodamente le tazze per un caffè o quelle per un thé. Un luogo dove gli ospiti si sentano padroni di casa e non debbano chiedere dove sono lo zucchero o i cucchiaini e dove possano tagliarsi una fetta di torta come fossero a casa loro. Una casa dove c’è un posto per tutti, dove quando viene sera si accendano le candele o meglio ancora il caminetto affinché si crei quell’intimità che per me è l’essenza del mio concetto di romanticismo.

Ich liebe die Küche, insbesondere, wenn sie voller Leben ist! Selbstgemachtes Gebäck auf einem Regal in Reichweite, wo auch griffbereit Kaffee- und Teetassen stehen. Ein schönes Haus, das Platz für alle hat, in dem man abends Kerzen anzündet, oder noch besser, einen Kamin, und so die Behaglichkeit schafft, die für mich die Essenz meines Verständnisses von Romantik ist.
